How To Be Successful At Losing Weight This Year

Ask Yourself These Questions

We all have knowledge gaps that make it harder for us to lose weight and keep it off.

There are things we know we don’t know and then there are the things we don’t know that we don’t know, and these are the ones that keep tripping you up.

Here are a few things you need to know if you want to start a weight loss program and succeed this year;

  • What specifically do you need to change to create the outcome you want? (and it’s not just food and exercise)

 

  • How specifically you’re going to change to achieve the outcome you want? (mentally, emotionally, behaviourally)

 

  • What will the ripple effect of the changes you make be for yourself and those around you?

Think about the people in your life that you currently do “food” with:
🌺Family
🌺Friends
🌺Work colleagues
🌺Committees
🌺Sporting Groups

How will they be affected by the changing you? Will everyone embrace the new you? If not, how can you proactively problem solve and turn a potential problem into an opportunity for positive change?

Think about all the areas of your life where you do “food”, do you normally:
🌷Have Sunday breakfast at the local café?
🌷Pick up coffee and cake at morning tea?
🌷Enjoy rest and relaxation time out and about on weekends and eating out?
🌷Relax on the couch in the evenings with snacks?
🌷Grab a little sweet treat while grocery shopping?
🌷Do Saturday coffee and catch up with friends?

What are you now going to do in those situations instead of doing food?

What are you going to do in your weak moments when will-power is low and foods are abundant?

If you want to be lose weight successfully this year, think about everything from a broader perspective so you can think about what change you will have to manage and make plans and strategies will take you to the success you deserve.

You need a system to break your learned behaviours, retrain yourself and prevent relapse.

That is your goal this year if you want to successfully lose weight for life.
