I Weigh Myself All The Time!!!

Which should you focus on the most; the result or the process?

This is very familiar, isn't it?

You weigh yourself multiple times a day hoping to see fast results, but when the result is unfavourable you get discouraged and frustration hits you hard again.

It's because you're focusing on the results, not the process.

When you focus on the process, the results will take care of themselves.

Why Can't You Keep The Weight Off?

Are you stuck in a continuous battle against weight gain?

My name is Katie Gordon. Dietless Living. Change behaviour specialist. I spent 25 years yo-yo dieting. Sometimes I could lose weight and keep it off for a few years and sometimes I couldn’t stick to a diet for 5 minutes let alone lose weight.

The thing that I battled with the most was emotional and impulse eating. I was bewildered by my own behaviours and nobody could tell me what was driving it or how to stop it.

After 30 years of research, I’ve mastered the beast! And my mission is to share my experiences and help others to step into their most extraordinary life with choices, freedom, and control.

7 Fab Tips To Create A Positive Relationship With Food

I’m always asked for easy dietless living tips, and one of the easiest first steps to changing your eating habits, patterns and behaviours is to actually enjoy the food that you eat.

Developing a great relationship with food is the same as any other relationship. It needs

  • Your attention
  • You to be present when you’re with it
  • To stop judging it
  • To not complain about it
  • To have loving feelings towards it (rather than resentment)

Here are 7 tips to help you do that and help you lose weight naturally.

#1 SET THE SCENE, EAT AT THE TABLE

You’ve heard that it’s best to eat at the table rather than in front of the TV haven’t you?

This is so you concentrate on eating rather than absent mindedly eating while focusing on the TV/computer/driving/etc.

Whether you’re eating with the family or eating alone, eating at the table gives your brain an important message. It tells your brain that

  1. it’s going to be enjoying a...

Are You Preparing Not to Succeed?

Are you preparing not to succeed?

Diet cookbooks are helping you to do just that.

I saw a cookbook today, on the big glossy cover were 4 photos of sensational looking food and the title of the book was “Healthy Snacks” with the sub text saying Eat Healthy & Lose Weight.

TO SNACK OR NOT TO SNACK

You don’t need to make healthy snacks, if you eat a meal (not a snack) when you’re hungry, eat food with nutritional value and eat until you are full, there is no need for “snacks”.

Snacks are foods you eat because you’re;

  • Skipping meals
  • Eating low nutritional foods
  • Not eating enough food to feel satisfied
  • Or they are something you eat because you feel compelled to eat to relieve stress, boredom, anger or some other physiological or psychological response

PREPARING NOT TO SUCCEED

If you’re on a diet and you prepare the so called healthy...

Can You Have Success Without Failure?

motivation & success Jul 24, 2020

For some reason we think that any kind of a ‘failure’ is a sign of, well, failure!

The word ‘failure’ strikes fear into the hearts and minds of most people, doesn’t it?

It’s just so laden with bad vibes, I can’t think of a time the word ‘failure’ has ever been linked to anything happy or inspiring.

The attached quote is one of my all time favorites, failure is really the unsung hero of any success.

Because of the times when success isn’t achieved, the product, service, event, relationships, job, presentation, invention, whatever it is, is all the better for it when success finally comes.

Why?

Because “failing” is merely learning. You didn’t fail at walking, using the toilet, eating solids, learning how to dress yourself, or any of the other 1000’s of things you had to learn to do as you grew up.

What have you “failed” at only...

How Important Is It To Train Yourself To Feel Good When You're Feeling Bad?

Have you ever stopped and thought about how amazing life is for us?

Have you ever wondered, if time travel existed, and someone from 1920 or even 1980 came forward to our time, how wide-eyed and amazed they would be at what we have available to us, what we can do and how we live?

The shopping center's, the internet, the phones, the size of the home TV, the endless variety of food in the grocery store, food courts and take-away restaurants, the cars we drive, the movies we watch, and in general, the affluent lifestyles we live.

How different is the life you’re actually living now to the life you were capable of even imagining you would be living when you in your teens?

We really do live in the most amazing times in all of history!

Which all begs the question “What in, or about, your life do you love the most?”

WHEN THINGS GO AWRY?

We all experience difficult times in our life, all kinds of hurdles that we have to train ourselves...

Why Your Happiness Is Crucial To Losing Weight

Having a happy heart is a crucial key to long term weight loss without dieting.

If you’re overweight, it’s most likely because you’ve been coping with life using food and beverages to soothe and manage your emotions and alleviate stress and tension.

Which means you have more stress and tension in your life than you do relaxation and joy.

If you have more stress and tension in your life than you do relaxation and joy and you’re overweight, then you’re already feeling very restricted, aren’t you?

So it’s easy to see that going on a rigid, restricting diet and/or exercise program is really just compounding the issue.

Great change doesn’t happen when you tighten down and restrict yourself more

Great and lasting change happens when you loosen up and release your grip and allow yourself to have fun.

UNDERESTIMATING THE VALUE OF HAPPINESS

We underestimate the value of happiness and the role it...

Why You Keep Getting Stuck In Repeating Eating Habits, Patterns & Behaviours

Whether you realise it or not, over your life time, you’ve developed a range of behaviours to soothe yourself, emotionally, mentally and physically.

Sometimes we know we’re soothing ourselves, but most of the time, we aren’t even conscious that the things we are doing is for the purpose of releasing tension from our body and that our body silently sent a signal through to the brain and instructed it to do so.

If we are aware that we are soothing ourselves, we just think we’re doing it for pleasure, and that’s true, but you’re also doing it because you’re body and brain are telling you you have to do it, and do it now.

WHY DO YOU HAVE TO DO IT?

  • Whatever way it is that you soothe yourself, it’s hooked up to the reward centre in your brain.
  • It relieves the tension that you feel in your body. And the need to relieve tension is a primal instinct.

THE REWARD CENTRE OF YOUR BRAIN

Do You Have Resistance To Persistence?

motivation & success Jun 30, 2020

We've all heard people say you've 'got to be persistent' to make change.

I say it all the time "You need to be consistent to be persistent.

What most people mean though is that you have to just push through the barriers, push through the obstacles, maybe bludgeon your way through or into something.

And even if that's not what you mean when you encourage someone to be persistent, that's what they hear.

Why?

Because if you have to encourage someone to be persistent, then it most likely means they've been at something for a while and they're not seeing the evidence that they were expecting to see that indicates they're making headway.

They feel like they're running into a head-wind when what they'd like to feel is the help of a tail-wind

Being persistent feels like you're pushing against defeat, that if you give up your persistent effort, defeat will come in and sweep you away.

WHAT'S THE MEANING OF ALL THIS?

The meaning of...
